Project Management

The system development life cycle is the process, involving multiple stages (from establishing the feasibility to carrying out post implementation reviews), used to convert a management need into an application system, which is custom-developed or purchased or is a combination of both.

ISACA

…a number of system development life cycle (SDLC) models have been created: waterfall, fountain, spiral, build and fix, rapid prototyping, incremental, and synchronize and stabilize. The oldest of these, and the best known, is the waterfall: a sequence of stages in which the output of each stage becomes the input for the next.

Information Technology Consulting

Do you have the know-how to tackle complex I.T. projects and tough deadlines?

Information TechnologyRemnant does. We can provide technical solutions to all of your information technology projects, from maintenance and repair issues to managing your most complex upgrades. We also provide system development life-cycle management from concept to production involving the following areas:

Application Development

Do you need to modernize a legacy system? Build a new install from scratch? If application development is not core to your business or you are strapped for resources, let Remnant help you. Regardless of the platform - SAP, .Net, Oracle, etc., we have the expertise to hit the ground running.

Network Upgrade and Migration

Remnant can help you assess your current needs and plan for future expansion. We can work with your network engineers, or provide the resources to design a solution that meets your business and budget requirements. We start with an in-depth analysis of your network—from cabling to traffic speed, Internet bandwidth and security audits. Then we develop testing and migration plans that ensure a smooth transition from an existing server system to a new, upgraded or consolidated platform, all while minimizing disruption to your business.

Procurement Services

Remnant can manage your information technology purchases and installation, from new core technologies to system upgrades and application development. You can engage our services for this sole function or as part of a larger service package, but the process is the same. For Remnant, procurement services means:

Acquisition Assessment

Ascertaining what is needed and when, documenting product requirements, and then, developing plans to assure those requirements are met.

Request for Proposals

Remnant will work with your organization to draft a Request for Proposal. In addition, we will help you identify potential information technology vendors, and then gather quotes from the vendor pool.

Vendor Selection and Negotiation

Review offers, interview a short list of vendors, and with your input, make a selection. Remnant will guide the negotiation process in concert with you and your legal counsel to ensure that deliverables and service level agreements are clearly defined.

Contract Administration

During the life of the project, Remnant will manage all aspects of the contract and the relationship between you and the chosen information technology vendors. We will monitor vendor performance in relation to the service agreements to make sure they are meeting your requirements.

Contract Closure

Finally, Remnant will manage the completion of all terms between respective parties, including the resolution of any open items. Once terms have been fulfilled, the contract and/or project is officially closed.
